FOLKLORE

Milk in noseThere is some folklore in the drug community.  Most of it concerns the overdose and how to prevent or treat it.  There are supposed to be three ways to treat an overdose; with milk, cornstarch, or salt water.  However, no one seems to know if you should drink it, inhale it, or rub it on.

The addict in the top photo overdosed while shooting up with friends.  His friends treated the overdose by pouring milk into his mouth.  He died not from an overdose of heroin, but because his well-meaning friends drowned him in milk.  You can see the milk and vomitus caught in the hairs of his nose.

An out of place milk carton or box of salt at a scene of death may provide a valuable clue when investigating a possible drug overdose.
